Leo joined the family back in July, 2015. We had always wanted a dog, and after my wife won a bit of money from a contest, we decided this was the perfect time. We drove out to a local, ethical breeder, where Leo was the last puppy remaining.
He was the runt of the litter, and so lovable that the breeder was going to keep him as a family dog if we didn’t want to take him. We fell in love with him on the spot, and welcomed him into our family. Originally we had planned to name him “Oscar” (get it? “Oscar Meyer”), but we heard the name “Leo” and something about it clicked with us. It just seemed to fit him.
Leo is the little buddy I always wanted. He follows me everywhere and loves to cruise around in the car with me with his face hanging out the window. He leaves some drool wherever we go, which is his contribution to the community.
Here are some important facts about Leo:
He can fit three tennis balls in his mouth
He loves food and he’s always hungry
Leo is a bit of a troublemaker. He grabs as much couch time as he thinks he can get away with.
He leads an active lifestyle. Dog parks, games of fetch, and being in and around water are some of his favorite activities.
Leo volunteers his time at local soup kitchens and food drives.
Leo loves people and makes friends wherever we go.
As you can plainly see, Leo is an upstanding citizen and community treasure. You’re probably thinking to yourself, “I’m not even following his Instagram. I must be missing out on a ton of great content.” You’re absolutely right. Do yourself a solid, head on over and wish him a happy birthday!
